Yaddo Gardens Waterlily
The Yaddo Garden Association, founded in 1991, is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the gardens at Yaddo. The gardens consist of both a rose garden and a rock garden. Volunteers of the Yaddo Garden Association do all phases of garden work. The Yaddo Gardens are open to the public seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to dusk.
The gardens feature a variety of plants which peak throughout the season. The roses begin to bloom mid-June and are at peak from about the third week of June through July and then peak again mid to late August. The rock garden is in bloom mid-June through mid-September. The remainder of the estate is private and may be visited only on special occasions.
Yaddo, founded in 1900 by the financier Spencer Trask and his wife Katrina, herself a poet, is an artists' community located on a 400-acre estate in Saratoga Springs, New York.

For Mrs. B. {no pun intended <:}
A couple of days ago my wife Pattyjo and I were out together. She was determined to get a bee in flight and spent most of the battery life in her P&S trying. She did manage to get some gorgeous shots... but that flying bee... well she had one nearly knock her over. I love her determination and concentration, one day she'll own a DSLR and I will relish in her joy when she succeeds.
Have a nice day Mrs. B.

Those were the days
Lake George
I had Chase swimming at the "dog beach" early yesterday morning. At 9:00 am it was in the 80's with high humidity. This wake boarder caught my attention not only for his skill, but for a flashback in time when I was a competitive water skier. It all started when I was a kid growing up in Michigan that later turned into what consumed most of my life into my 40's. A shoulder injury put me out of contention but I've since had the pleasure to teach others. This photo... a simple frozen moment that brought decades of memories.

Forest Floor
It's been one of the rainiest summers here in Eastern Upstate NY and New England on record. The streams are running like it's Spring and there is certainly little chance of forest fires. On my many hikes with Chase I come across countless wild mushrooms. These are also due to the unusually wet ground. Another are the pesky Black Flies, Gnats and Mosquitoes.
