What once was...

The Adirondack Mt.'s are peppered with these abandoned camps. This may very well had been someone's year round home at one time.

Such a sad site...we have abandon farms/barns in our area as well! They always make me wonder what happened to the people who live there?

Hope Adam is feeling better?
Cheers

This image is captivating; i guess because it plays on the imagination of what might have been. my guess would be that it was once a year round home, due to the fireplace and second floor level but what's really interesting to me is the idea that the foundation of this home, after all that has happened, is still solid...the structure remains square. I think that is another reason it's so striking.

It reminds me of driving by my childhood home as a grandparent and seeing the roof falling in and the broken windows and feeling sad and a little sick. Then one day I drove by and it was gone! Hope Adam is doing well!

That makes me think feel like a kid. I would love to come across that in the woods by my house and make it my clubhouse.
Beautiful pic. You always seem to bring out some new emotion in me with each pic.
Great work

Hi Michael -
What a great blog! I love all your pictures! Having spent a lot of time in the woods of Minnesota, I was really able to identify with this shot...the cold stillness and sort of loneliness of the setting brought me right back to some places I've been. Bravo! Thanks for sharing your work!
