The Blue Hour

A section of our local integrated bike trail system.
This happens to be along the Hudson River on a densely foggy morning last week.

I want to thank everyone for your kind comments and regular visits. Some of your comments flatter me because I remain humble in my quest to capture moments of time and to be quite honest, I'm not always certain the image is all that good. I have discovered that what my eyes see is soul driven. When I spot something my adrenaline spikes and some intuitive sense draws me in. One of the greatest nature photographers ever says it best...

"In my mind's eye, I visualize how a particular . . . sight and feeling will appear on a print. If it excites me, there is a good chance it will make a good photograph. It is an intuitive sense, an ability that comes from a lot of practice."

Ansel Adams

Thank you all again and may you have a wonderful Wednesday.

Don't question whether a photograph will be good just continue to do what you do! (The benefit of digital is the delete) Your camera is a window to the world so keep your curtains open.

I think it IS when you "put your soul" into the pictures that they come out the best. Sometimes with the camera we manage what we often cannot do in "real life" - to screen off disturbing things we don't want to have in the picture, and just focus on the beauty, or whatever feeling it is we want to capture...

Great quote, great picture, great attitude.
I get that exact feeling you describe! In fact, if I don't capture what made me feel that way, then it sort of haunts me if I don't photograph it!
Not only do you have a real talent for capturing a moment, but you have the rare ability to come up with FANTASTIC titles for your already brilliant work! I have a hard time coming up with creative titles, I usually just state the obvious. But seriously, that's a great talent you have, since that's the first thing people see before the actual picture. Keep it up!!

I havent been on to have a look for a few days now, and its like Christmas!!! All these beautiful photos to gaze at.
There is something about an icy winter scene that is totally magical, and I am not sure if thats just looking at it through the eyes of someone who has never even seen snow. Other than what my freezer manages to produce that is.
Thank you again for the chance to absorb your beautifull work.
Cheers from Australia
